How to choose the right band saw for your workshop

1 min read

Manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic? Four questions that decide which sawing machine fits your production.

The right band saw depends less on the brand than on how you work. Four questions help to narrow the choice.

How many cuts per shift? A manual saw such as the BasiCut is simple and universal for locksmith shops and smaller operations. Once the same operator repeats hundreds of cuts a day, a semi-automatic or automatic saw pays back through time saved and steadier results.

Which materials and sizes? Check the largest section you will cut, whether you need mitre cuts, and how hard the material is. Mitre cutting up to 30° (arm turning up to 60°) is possible on manual saws; automatic double-mitre saws cover wider angles.

How much operator time can you spare? Automatic feed and bar loading let one person run several machines.

What service will you need? Blades wear, and a saw that stops costs more than a saw that is cheap to buy. Vondarsoun supplies blades, sharpening and operator training for the machines it sells.

Tell us what you cut, and an engineer will suggest a machine from the sawing range.
